2006 Frazier Cabernet Sauvignon
Harvest Notes
Napa Valley’s great growing season of 2006 provided exceptional fruit for us at Frazier. We had a mild spring, marked by wet weather. The cool weather prevailed until July delaying development in the vineyard. Luckily Napa experienced a heat spell mid-summer which lasted over a week. This heat spike helped to accelerate vineyard development and by August everything in the vineyard was normal. This pattern continued with nice even development of the grapes until harvest began in mid-October.
Tasting Notes
The well drained volcanic soils on our hillside vineyard provide nice
supple tannins, with depth, dimension and structure that will allow for
enjoyment of this wine for years to come. While this wine is more
approachable in its youth than previous vintages of Frazier we hope
you manage to hold some for aging as the wine should hit its stride in
2011 and continue to develop for years to come.

2006 Memento Cabernet Sauvignon
Memento was founded with the 2000 vintage when a Master of
Wine/Master Sommelier tasted a blend of our best barrels at a trade only tasting in St. Helena and remarked that it was the best wine in the room.
This noted individual tasted the wine and asked what the name of this
wine was. At that point it was only an assemblage of our best lots from
the 2000 vintage and was never intended to make it into production so
we had no answer. After a little bit of persuasion and a lot of careful
thought we decided to introduce a reserve program into our line of wines
and name it Memento. While Memento has only been produced in vintages
we feel represent the best of what we have to offer, the 2006 may be
the finest example we have produced to date.
The bouquet of the 2006 Memento shows a touch of cassis, and ripe red
and black fruits, and light toasty oak. On the palate ripe, sweet tannins
are evident. An extended amount of time ageing in barrel has further concentrated
this wine and added nuances of coffee and vanilla. This is a
wine of layers and finesse with all elements in perfect harmony. This wine
will be great as a stand alone but would pair wonderfully with hearty
meats and pasta dishes.

2005 Memento Cabernet Sauvignon
Bottled unfined and unfiltered, the 2005 Memento is a bold wine featuring our best lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The bouquet of this classically structured wine opens with sweet notes of vanilla and slight aromas of mint, anise, and mocha. The first sip invites, with good weight on the palate and notes of bittersweet chocolate, ripe cherry, spice box, and a bit of toasty oak. This wine is built for the cellar and has the ability to age in excess of 15 years. To best enjoy we recommend cellaring these wines for a minimum of 2-3 years before opening. If curiosity strikes at an earlier date do yourself a favor and decant these wines for a good 4 hours.

2002 Frazier Cabernet Etched Magnum
Due to a loss incurred in a warehouse fire in October of 2005 most of the 2002 vintage Cabernet was lost prior to being released. A limited number of magnums remain for sale. The 2002 Frazier Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine of density with the flavors of berries, currants, herbs and toasty oak. Fitted with a firm structure, this wine will age gracefully for 7 to 10 years.
