2009 Frazier Memento
Memento was founded with the 2000 vintage when a Master of Wine tasted a blend of our best barrels at a trade only tasting in St. Helena and remarked that it was the best wine in the room. This noted individual tasted the wine and asked what the name of this wine was. At that point it was only an assemblage of our best lots from the 2000 vintage and was never intended too make it into production so we had no answer. After a little bit of persuasion and a lot of careful thought we decided to introduce a reserve program into our line of wines and name it Memento.
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Memento is even more impressive than the straight bottling. Hints of mocha, espresso and cinnamon lead to a rich, expressive core of dark red and black fruit. The 2009 boasts stunning depth and power. Suggestions of melted road tar and smoke add a rich, baritone dimension to the warm, resonant finish. The 2009 is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. These two wines from Frazier are loaded with intensity and pure personality

2009 Frazier Merlot
Intense aromas of graphite, cassis, black cherries, and a hint of dark chocolate give a glimpse into what this wine is all about. On the palate, the ripe dark red and black fruit is perfectly balanced by a bit of toasty oak and a backbone of bright acidity. The use of 30% new French oak frames all of the components together while staying firmly in the background. Flavors of red currents, wild game, new leather, and dark chocolate can all be found in perfect harmony in this wine. The concentrated palate ends with wonderful length. This wine will benefit from 2-3 hours in the decanter and should age through 2020.

2011 Frazier Dutton Ranch Chardonnay
Making its debut in our wine offerings is this 2011 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay. Made from 30 year old Wente Clone vines this wine is full of complexity but never heavy or tiring on the palate. Aromas of fresh cut flowers, pineapple, lychee, honey, and hints of lemon entice on the nose of this bright Chardonnay. The palate is a showcase for more of the same. Luscious pure tropical fruit and light citrus flavors emerge from the glass, all backed up by vibrant acidity. A streak of minerality is shown throughout the palate which gives way to a long creamy finish, what feels like a minute plus. Though this Chardonnay has wonderful mid weight to it you won’t find big aromas of oak or malolactic notes. The fruit is the star here and there is plenty of vibrancy and purity to it.

2009 Frazier Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc from Coombsville is about as good as it gets. The mineral rich volcanic soils, cool temperatures, and long growing season make this varietal a favorite.
This Cabernet Franc has a lifting bouquet of highly perfumed floral aromatics. There is a bit of dark cherry, wild herbs, and a hint of dark underlying minerality. On the palate, pronounced, smooth tannins give way to flavors of raspberry, black tea, and cherry, and wild herbs. The finish is lengthy and leaves you wanting more. We like Cabernet Franc young, as the pure fruit and fresh fruit aromas are not to be missed. Fans of this varietal know how amazing it becomes in the cellar. Recommended drinking 2012- 2020.

2009 Frazier Petit Verdot
In winemaking, a small addition of Petit Verdot adds wonder to the color and structure of a Bordeaux blend. This Petit Verdot, with 10% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot turns the impact of Petit Verdot on its head! This is a wine full of dark chewy berries with wild herbs, and loads of powerful tannin. As large framed and rich as this wine is, it maintains balance and complexity the entire way through. While we recommend decanting for a few hours as a youngster, this wine should hold nicely if stored properly. Recommended drinking 2013- 2023.
